KEY PERSONNEL

  Andranik Sarkissian, PPhys, PhD, MBA

Dr. Sarkissian is the founding member of Plasmionique, which was incorporated in 1999.  A former Physics Professor at INRS-Énergie et Matériaux,  Dr. Sarkissian received his BSc in Physics from Pars College in Tehran,in 1979,   his MSc in 1981, from North London Polytechnic, UK, his PhD from University of Saskatchewan, in 1988 and his MBA from McGill University in 2001. Dr. Sarkissian was a research scientist at the Centre Canadian de Fusion Magnétique (CCFM) from 1990 to 1999, and responsible for a team of scientist and engineers involved with design and development of advanced plasma diagnostic systems. Dr. Sarkissian's main interests are applications and commercialization of plasma techniques to Surface Engineering and Advance Material Synthesis. He is a licensed Professional Physicist in Canada.

  Claude Côté, PhD

Dr. Claude Côté joined the Plasmionique team in 2000 to lead company's collaborative research activity on synthesis of Carbon Nanotubes using low pressure RF Plasma. He was a research scientist with MPB technologies from 1995 to 1999, and a scientific member of CCFM since 1993, involved with studies of plasma-wave interactions. Dr. Côté received his undergraduate degree in Physics from McGill University in 1983, his MSc from INRS, in 1988 and his PhD from University of Maryland, USA, in 1993. In addition to his extensive experience in design of antenna for RF field-Plasma coupling, Dr. Côté is also involved with study of plasma-assisted synthesis of nanostructured coatings.

  Sergiy Navala, PhD, EE

Dr. Navala joined Plasmionique's R&D team in 2005, enriching the group's expertise with his extensive experience in Plasma Processing and Thin film coating technologies. Dr. Navala was a senior research scientist in the R&D division of Samsung Electronics Co. in South Korea from 2000 to 2004, and a research scientist at Cybernatics Institute of National Academy of Sciences in Ukraine, from 1981 to 2000, where he also received his PhD degree in 1989. He received his MSc in Electronics Engineering from National Polytechnic University of Ukraine, in 1981. Dr. Navala has numerous publications in scientific journals and has been awarded several patents.

  Pawel Jedrzejowski, PhD

Dr. Jedrzejowski, recipient of prestigious Canada's Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council's Industrial Research Fellow award, joined Plasmionique's R&D team in 2005 to lead company's collaborative projects with Canadian Universities on topics related to synthesis of nanostructured materials and coatings for applications to biological interfaces. He received his PhD from École Polytechnique de Montréal in 2004, studying the Mechanical and Optical properties of Superhard Nanocomposite coatings. He received his BSc and MSc degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Technical University of Lodz, Poland in 1998 and 1999 respectively.

  Carlos Robado, MSc, BSc

Mr. Robado joined Plasmionique's R&D team in January 2006, taking the responsibility for all technical details of company's development activities. His vast organizational and technical skills are critical for assuring the continual growth of the company. Mr. Robado recieved his BSc in Physics from University of Québec at Montréal (UQAM) in 1993, and his MSc from the University of Quebec at Trois Rivières, specializing in epitaxial growth and characterization of thin films. Prior to joining Plasmionique Mr. Robado worked at André-Laurendeau College (Cégep) in Montréal for over 4 years, where he was responsible for training technicians in Physics, Optics and Nanotechnology.

Jean-Baptiste A. Kpetsu, MSc, BEng., Eng.

Mr. Kpetsu joined Plasmionique's R&D team in December of 2006, as research associate, strengthening the group's activity in functional thin film coating research. Mr. Kpetsu received his MSc in 2004 from Laval University, specializing in Photonic Materials and coatings under the supervision of Prof. Roger Lessard and participation of Gentec Électro-Optique Inc, with financial support of NSERC Industrial Innovation Scholarship.  Mr Kpetsu completed his Engineering Physics degree in 2001 after studies at École Polytechnique and Laval University.  Prior to joining Plasmionique he worked at DRDC-Valcartier, in collaboration with INRS-ÉMT since 2005, and FISO Technologies during 2004-2005.
